STORAGE – Maximum storage, minimum impact
![]() |
Low storage is a good solution for a long narrow room. Because it is below eye level it doesn’t impede visually into the room, maximising the appearance of the available space. These shelves, pictured, from Habitat are on large lockable castors, which provide easy access to the radiator, if required.
By placing a large canvas artwork or a mirror above the unit you can create a cohesive and attractive grouping. To link the arrangement together I used a tall bronze vase with pussy willow stems. Baskets can also be slotted into the shelves if the client is looking to store smaller items like children’s toys.
The area is now defined and organised and the clean vertical lines of the unit logically display the books and magazines to great effect. The unit also has castors so that if you wish to move it to redfine the room space you can do so very easliy.
