Clients often ask us how best to place furniture in a room, and whether to opt for a traditional three piece or a pair of sofas?  There are so many options available these days that people often end up going for ‘everything matching’. 

The result can sometimes lead to an effect that is visually heavy, and not very interesting.  The solution is to look for a contrasting or accent chair!  There are so many great designs available that offer ample opportunity to experiment with pattern and colour. 

Choose a design that contrasts with your sofa rather than matches it for a fresh and personal design statement.  If you can’t find the colour or the design that hits the button, consider having one made; it is not as expensive as you may think!

When decorating, think about the variety of textures that you can use in the scheme, and how they will relate to each other.  Experiment by blending together both ethnic and contemporary pieces, the result could be both interesting and uniquely individual!
