Jali and Linda Barker at the Ideal

Jali screens are one of our favourite
products, and they were thrilled to be approached by
one of our favourite designers, Linda Barker, to help
with her project room set for this year's Ideal Home
Exhibition. Using their very latest laser technology,
they produced an exciting creative feature for Linda's
gorgeously sumptious Future Room.

Jali is renowned for its decorative fretwork, which
is used to full effect in its famous range of radiator
cabinets. And they were thrilled when Linda approached
the company to help with her project.
The company usually works in MDF and wood, but Linda
wanted something more futuristic for this set. As Jali
have now got a state of the art laser cutter, this enables
them to work with many more materials.
For Linda's futuristic room set, she designed a fabulous
screen from squares with an abstract, angular pattern.
The pattern was programmed into Jali's laser machine,
which then cut the 288 squares from 2mm thick mild steel.
To match the colour scheme a creamy ivory shade was
chosen for the coating.

room and admire the Jali screen, in the Tower of Time,
at the Ideal
Home Exhibition, Earls Court 1, until April 6th
2003.
