There is a defined change to the weather this month. While the wonderful late Summer warmth fades to a memory, Autumn breezes in and the emphasis on creating a comfortable warm and inviting interior suddenly takes priority. So, if you are looking for inspiration look to the world of Interiors as this season embraces rich deep colour palettes; using jewel bright colours in heavier weight luxury textured fabrics. Layers of texture symbolise warmth and indulgence to keep the cold at bay. Gold and copper tones are most definitely the key metallic finish and certainly add an extravagant touch and a heavenly glow!
Whilst reflecting back on the Summer of 2014, the range and variety of our projects that our team have been involved in really struck me! Two of our team have moved house one of whom is totally re-building a property in Sevenoaks, both have client’s interior projects running alongside their own major moves. One of our designers is working with two clients who are preparing the mammoth task of downsizing large properties into homes more suitable for their present lifestyle. As a team, locally, we have designed and furnished two completely different new build show homes in a regeneration area of Kings Lynn, a lovely new build family home in a rural town in Norfolk, two stunning character new build homes both “Staged to Sell” in North Norfolk and a first time buyers flat in a converted town building in the heart of gorgeous Bungay, Suffolk. Along with these jobs that stand out are where we have also designed and furnished a complete four bedroom show home in Bedford together with some stunning curtains and blinds. We have also designed and “Staged to Rent” two flats with river views in Norwich. Then in the last two weeks I was absolutely delighted to be asked to add the finishing touches to the lovely TV presenter Helen McDermott’s charming house in the centre of Norwich. A stunning mews style period abode in an almost secret location which has just undergone a high specification refurbishment, which cleverly retains all of the appealing character. It was a collaboration project with Jarrolds providing much of the furniture while local artist Alec Cumming’s show stopping contemporary paintings exuded colour and vibrancy into the scheme and Posh Plants provided the lush greenery inside and out! Look out for the stunning results in these pages very soon!
At Home Stagers we certainly do not have time to stand still and take stock, we are already driving forward with the next major projects which involve two exceptional properties, both very different but equally stunning converted barns in Essex and a delightful high quality new build family home near Aldeburgh and for something completely different, a Penthouse in Malvern, some very interesting bespoke upholstery projects and some inspiring ideas with fabulous Wools from New Zealand on show at New Zealand House in the Haymarket London!
